Ministry of home affairs in the process of making services online for foreign funded NGOs
In order to eliminate the need for foreign-funded non-governmental organizations (“NGOs”) to manually file applications and returns and make subsequent visits through their representatives to the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (“FCRA”) division for status update the Ministry of Home Affairs (“MHA”) has vide a circular dated 28th July 2015 decided to make services under FCRA to go online in next 15-20 days on issuance of this circular in order to enable faster processing and disposal of matters. New platform to track companies CSR spending
The Companies Act, 2013 provides under Section 135 that Companies:
- with a net worth of Rs 500 crore
- or a turnover of Rs 1,000 crore
- or net profit of Rs 5 crore
Need to spend at least 2% of their average net profit in the preceding 3 financial years on CSR activities. Schedule VII of the Act provides a list of activities such as Clean India, Clean Ganga, education and health etc. that can be undertaken as CSR. (more…)
